May 27th: Students are reminded that their social media activity for the film " La grande seduction " is due Tuesday, May 31st.
May 26th: Continuing with our media unit, students finished watching the film "La grande seduction". Tomorrow students will finish and submit the related social media platform sheet.
May 12th: Students should have their "Les voyage francophones" ready to hand in for next Tuesday, May 17th. See handout below. Students will start their media unit next week.

May 6th: Over the past couple of weeks students have continued looking at Acadian culture ( more specifically local festivals and music).
April 19th: As a continuation with out culture and heritage theme, we have started looking at Acadian culture in our region. In addition, we have also spent time investigating the past tense ( passé composé).
March 29th: Welcome back after I hope an excellent long weekend. Today we corrected a bilingual activity that we finished before the long weekend. For the rest of the period we continued working on our identity flag that is due next Thursday, April 7th. See handouts below.

March 1st: Students are reminded to bring in a small item to class next Tuesday that represents a personal value or tradition. Also, students are reminded that they should have submitted their monster project last week!
February 18th: Students are reminded that their monster assignment is due tomorrow. Please see below for the handout outlining the criteria.
February 5th : By the of the day all resolution presentation should have been presented. We are wrapping up with our resolution theme and continuing to develop our understanding of various adjectives and the future tense. This week students started working on creating a unique monster which will be brought to life using various adjectives. The due date for this activity is February 19th. I have attached a copy of the activity below along with an example.

January 22nd: Students are reminded that due to various reasons presentations will start Thursday, January 28th. Have a great weekend!
January 20th: Over the past week we have been continuing to perfect our oral abilities in describing our new year resolutions as well as ways in which we can achieve them. Students have been working on a project called "Ma resolution pour l'année 2016" which includes three components: a rough copy, a final poster, as well as an oral presentation ( please see handout below). Presentations will get underway next Tuesday, January 26th. In addition, we took sometime at the end of last week to look at possessive adjectives ( see presentation for handouts) as well took a class to read the text " Le désordre".

January 11th: Happy New Year! Upon returning back to French class last week, students have been sharing their new year resolutions along with methods in which they can reach their goals. In addition, students have been practicing the tense 'Futur Proche'.
December 14th: Students should have their final copy of their Calligramme finished for Tuesday's class - if not already submitted. Please see handout below.
December 10th: Students did an excellent job presenting their recipes! A special thank you to those parents who helped with sending special treats for the class to enjoy. Following the presentations, students have started working on a form of poetry called ' Calligrammes'. This incorporates poetry and images. See attachment below for instructions.

November 3rd: Students are reminded that their identity poem is due Friday, November 6th!
October 27th, 29th & 30th: This week we finished our first theme, "les passe-temps" by submitting our first journal. We started 'la nourriture' by reading a simple text as well as explored a bit of poetry. Next week students will finish their identity poem as well as further explore our food theme.
October 20th & 22nd: This week students set-up their journals and are expected to have the final copy of their first entry completed for Tuesday's class. Students are reminded that they must also submit their rough draft along with their final copy. Students started their identity poem today!
October 13th, 15th & 16th: This week students were introduced to various transitional words used in the French language. Students took their responses from last week's questions to formulate a rough copy of a well structured paragraph using transitional words. All rough copies of paragraphs should be ready for peer editing for Tuesday's class. See handouts and paragraph model below.

September 21st - 25th: All students should have presented and submitted their "C'est Moi!" assignment. This week we started our unit on "Pendant mon temp libre" as well as worked on creating the negative structure.
September 15th: Students in grade 8 please have your final copy of your project finished for Thursday's class. Time will be given at the beginning of each class to practice. Presentations will start Thursday and continue Friday. Please see the rubric below.
